EKSTRÖM MARCH is an event to popularize active outdoor habits and introduce war history to whole families, which takes place in the untouched landscapes of the biggest and oldest estonian national park – Lahemaa. In addition to the hike in the nature, participants can enjoy additional historic events like concerts, movies, workshops and fair.
The march is dedicated to Colonel Ekström and his regiment of finnish volunteers, who fought in the Estonian War of Independence. The march includes several different routes and can be accomplished by all age groups of active people, from kids to the elderly. Due to the fact, that the event format is not a contest, every participant wins.
When? 25th of January, 2020, 10:00 am.
Where? The starting point at Kolga Mansion
What? A public hike on three different trails with a historic culture program and fair.
The approximate length of the trails are 7, 15 and 30 km.
Before the start, traditionally a historic battle scene will be played by war history club Front Line Eesti.
In parallel to the March, a culture program will take place. The exact schedule will be given out soon. The Kolga Mansion will be opened to visitors.

COSTUME PRIZE! For the bold and eager, we highly recommend to dress in the war costumes of the beginning of 20th century, the simulated historic weapons will only add on! A prize for the best costume!
SELFIE CONTEST! In addition to the costume prize, the best selfie prize will be handed out. Hiker, make a cool selfie of Yourself and post it to Ekström March Facebook page.
CATERING will be organized in several spots. You can buy food and drinks in the start/finish point and on the trails. The meals are also served on the fair and in Kolga restaurant.
ADDITIONAL INFO parking is organized in the parking areas around Kolga mansion (free of charge).
